    Love, March 24th 2012.

My good friends Kim-Helge and Stine Lise got married this weekend, March 24th 2012. It was an incredibly beautiful wedding with a great party afterwards. They even played the Star Wars theme, and a Darth Vader cake was consumed.
I had the honor of taking some photos during the ceremony, and some of the photos afterwards.
This photo is a rough edit preview of what I have, and I'm excited for the rest of the editing!

Once again I want to congratulate this amazing couple on getting married, and I wish them all the best in the world! <3

    Abandoned

I have changed my Abandoned Furniture-project to just Abandoned. I was walking around the Mission and Potrero with Miles yesterday, to look for items to shoot, and saw a few we both found interesting. I discovered changing the project to include more than just furniture will open up many more possibilities, and make it more interesting.
These are the images I shot, and I will post them on my website as soon as I'm completely done editing them all. And I will be looking for more too shoot and add to the project. It's starting to become a really fun project, so hopefully I will find lots more to shoot.

  • Now that I am done with school, I am planning on doing some more of my projects. I will continue some I already have, as well as starting new ones. The two photos are examples of those;

The first one is a photo I took in Florida on Christmas 2010. From this I want to make a project about abandoned furniture, and it will consist of photos from the US and Norway. Hopefully I’ll be able to add other countries as well.

The second one is a landscape I took this Fall of 2011, at China Camp State Park, CA. From this I want to create a project of simple landscapes, most of them taken at dawn and dusk.

I’m very excited to start doing all these projects, and hopefully I’ll end up with some pretty great images.

    Tattoo-details.

I added another project to my portfolio, which consists of portraits of people, and a detail-shot of one of their tattoos. I really do love doing projects like these; I get to meet new people, or just meet up with people I already know. And being fascinated by tattoos as I am, getting to look at them really close up is great. I love seeing the details you usually don't pay attention to when you look at a person's tattoo from a bit of a distance: You get to see the tattoo-artists skills when it comes to lines, shading, etc.

  • More Animals.

I have done a few shoots the last couple of weeks, and it's so much fun! Haven't had this much fun in a long time. Shooting animals is quite hard and unpredictable, but that's a part of it that makes it so much fun. You never know what you're going to get. But you usually end up with some pretty good photos!

    Animals/Pets

This is Hans the Rottweiler, my most recent model. He might also be the cutest one.
This week I decided to change my portfolio-project, and do animal/pet-photography instead. This is only replacing my other idea temporarily. I am still doing that one, but not for this portfolio-class.
As of now I have mostly dogs I'm using as models, but also a few cats, and some rats. Hopefully I will get other animals, too. I would really love to shoot any type of animal, big and small, and hopefully some exotic ones as well.

I think this will be a perhaps exhausting project, but also so much fun. I've always loved animals, and I have wanted to do this type of project for a while, and now I'm finally doing it! And I can't wait to have more models to take photos of!

    Senior Portfolio

I decided to challenge myself this last semester at school, and to do something I have wanted to do for a while now.
I have taken screenshots of music-videos, and will be looking at more. Not just music-videos, but all kinds of videos I find interesting online.

The screenshots will work as inspiration for my project in my Senior Portfolio class; I will base my photos on these, but will add my own style and mood to them. I'm excited to see what comes out of this!

  • <3 Norway <3

As most people know, on Friday, July 22nd 2011, there was a bombing in Oslo, Norway. Then there was a shooting at Utøya. This man (I don't want to write his name, because I don't think he deserves it.) killed at least 8 people in Oslo, and as of now at least 68 people at Utøya, many of them young adults and teenagers down to the age of 14.
At first a lot of people jumped to the conclusion that Extremist-Muslims were behind the attacks, and wrote and said pretty terrible things in my opinion. This mad me really sad, and embarrassed on their behalf. One should NEVER jump to a conclusion like that without knowing what really happened. I know people are a bit skeptical to other religions and beliefs, but come on people..
When it turned out the guy was Norwegian, I have to admit I was a bit relieved. Just because what could have happened if it was  i.e. a Muslim. Now perhaps people realize that there are other terrible people out there.

I feel very lucky that all of my family and friends are okay (as far as I know). There were some close calls, like my cousin who works in one of the buildings that got bombed; he had just left work, and was at his bus stop when it exploded. I also know people who were working a few blocks away, and got window glass over them. But luckily, no one was severly injured.
But even though all my loved one are okay, Norway is a small country, so we all get affected by this. Some more than others, but it's such a horrible thing that one can't help but getting affected.

Our Government, and the Royal Family, the Police, along with everyone who help the people in Oslo and Utøya, will forever be remembered after this. They have done an incredible job talking to the public, and giving the information we all need. They have done an amazing job.

What is nice about all of this, is seeing how we all stand together as a country, and showing love, concern and sympathy for each other.

This is something that will take us a long time to get over, if we get over it. But Norway will not be broken by this, not at all. Hopefully we will come out even stronger.

  • Mac Problems

So, I was planning on posting quite a few photos to my website over the summer. I've shot a wedding, which was great, and I went to Norway Rock Festival, where I worked, but also got to take photos of the shows. However, during my time at the festival, my Mac started giving me the bluescreen. Now I'm trying my hardest to transfer and save everything I can, before I give it to the Apple-store in Bergen, Norway. Luckily I have most of my files backed up, but I can't edit them at all. But hopefully I'll get it fixed soon, so I can get to work again!

  • Documentary photos from Golden Gate Fields.

It's taken me a while, but I finally posted my final photos from the Golden Gate Fields. This is a project that was close to my heart, as I've loved horses since I was a little girl. And I haven't been around horses in quite some time now, so being able to do a project that revolves around these beautiful creatures has been really a great experience.

I spent weeks on finalizing the project, and I got to meet some really great people, who helped me every time I came to take my photos. And I will be forever grateful for that. I want to especially thank Bill Vassar and Marcel, from vassarphotography.com who are the photographers at the races, and were so very helpful. Also Tom Ferrall, who is in charge of publicity at the fields.

Hope you all like the photos!

    Golden Gate Fields

On Sunday, March 6th, I went to the Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley to shoot for an assignment for my Documentary-class. I love horses, always have, so when we had to shoot at a sports event, I knew what I wanted to do. And it ended up being so much more fun than I thought beforehand.

After seeing me taking pictures of the first race official event-photographer, Bill Vassar, approached me, and told me I could come with him on the tracks to take better pictures. Both he, and his co-worker Marcel took me out to the tracks, on different parts of it, to take the best possible images. And even though this was my first time shooting an event like this, I got some good images, much thanks to Bill and Marcel, who gave me very useful tips.

After shooting at the race track I have decided to do my final project there as well. So I'm hoping I end up with some great shots for that!

Sunday February 20th I had a shoot with local San Francisco-band Abriel, to do some promos for them.We had a blast, and here are a few images of what we did. I have a feeling all of them will turn out really good once I've edited them!

Abriel has a cd out called This Will Swallow You Whole, and it can be purchased from iTunes. Go check them out, people!

    Tattoo-project

This project was created for my final project in my People Illustration class Fall 2010.

My teacher let me borrow her copy of Jim Goldberg's book "Rich and Poor", which turned out to be a great inspiration for my project. I took photos of my models in the studio, put the focus on one of their tattoos, and had them write something (whatever they felt was appropriate) about the tattoo.

This was initially a project for class, but it was something that I had really wanted to do for quite some time, so it is also a very personal project to me as well, something I'm very interested in. It is now a project that I will continue to do, and see where it may take me.
